You can always trust God’s Word to help you make the right decisions.
Supplies:
Three cups
Water
Directions:
Fill one cup with very warm (almost hot) water.
Fill the second cup with room temperature water.
Fill the third cup with ice-cold water.
Put your left index finger (the one next to your thumb) in the very warm water and your right index finger in the very cold water and hold them there for about 20 seconds. (Count slowly to 20.)
Now quickly put both fingers into the cup with room-temperature water.
Are you noticing something interesting? Your left finger now feels like it is in cool water while the right one feels like it is in warm water. Yet they are both in the same cup! The previous experience of the fingers causes them to falsely sense the normal temperature of the water. If you didn’t know better, you would think they were in entirely different containers!
Your senses can’t always be trusted. Just as you proved your sense of touch can easily be fooled, so can your understanding of events or situations around you. That’s why you need to always follow what Jesus says in the Bible rather than what you might think is right.
